Born and raised in the village of Taro, my relationship with the fireflies has been an intimate experience since my childhood. Growing up, I see less and less fireflies its habitat. I am taking this initiative to ensure our next generation will be able to see fireflies by regenerating its population and improving its natural habitat.

I was born in a rural area of Magelang, central Java, by the slope of mount Merapi. I studied Biology at University of Atma Jaya Yogjakarta.
My passion with insects in general have been developed with me since childhood. Having a close interaction with fireflies in the lab is truly magical

I grown up with my family in Tana Toraja, south Sulawesi. Within Tana Torajan culture, our community are tied very strongly with our ancestor and after life dimension.
Fireflies are also strongly related to this believe. At Duta Wacana Christian University, Jogjakarta I have a balance understanding between mythological view of about fireflies and its scientific insights about fireflies and its relationship in sustainability
